Clover Hill Foods Announces Acquisition of Steubenville Fruit Co.

Bill Virgi, president of Clover Hill Foods, LLC, announced today that the company has acquired certain assets of Steubenville Fruit Co., an Ohio-based foodservice distributor. Steubenville Fruit customers will now be serviced from the Clover Hill Foods distribution center in Bridgeville, PA.

Steubenville Fruit Company was founded in 1942 as a wholesaler of fresh fruits and produce. Steubenville has expanded its product line and today is a broadline food distributor supplying restaurants, pizza shops, and schools. Mark Longo, president of Steubenville Fruit Company, has joined the Clover Hill Foods team effective January 3, 2012.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Mark Longo and the Steubenville Fruit team,” said Virgi. “We have had many requests for these types of specialized products but we chose to wait until we could bring in an expert like Mark. His knowledge and experience will benefit our customers immediately.” According to Longo, the new arrangement will benefit Steubenville’s customers by giving them access to Clover Hill’s inventory of 6,000 items and 300 vendors.
